"How is your grief and pain expressed in the butterflies?" ...I was asked at the gallery opening. "Butterflies and moths are symbols of rebirth and hope. I painted these just after our adoption failed. I needed a safe place to break the rules, and work through all the details. If you look closely, there is no symmetry - there are dots where there shouldn't be and the colors are intentionally all mixed up." I am craving a place where I can follow Christ - whatever that looks like. And I LOVE how this "wrong" but beautiful butterfly/moth speaks to my heart.
