mend

Jule Collins Smith Museum
on August 13, 2019 from 6 to 8PM
On March 3, 2019 more than 200 homes in Lee County were totally destroyed. In addition, about 150 others had extensive damage. MEND was established by EAMC days after to gather our community in an effort to rebuild what was lost. While we have heard much about the devastation and rebuilding efforts, there are still families left without homes.
MEND has partnered with The Fuller Center to build new homes for those left with nothing. The Fuller Center provides the expertise and much of the labor for these homes through their network of volunteers from all over the country, but there is still money to be raised for building supplies. The building materials for each new home is $55,000. ALL funds raised from this event will go directly to MEND and be used for building and rebuilding for those in need.
In addition to raising funds, we believe your creative donation will bring hope to those that have been through incredible trauma. Through this event, we hope to show all impacted in Beauregard and Smiths Station that they have not been forgotten and that their neighbors wish to help with the rebuilding process of their homes and their lives.
We are asking for donations of art, pottery, sculpture to be sold on the night of the event and for volunteers to help display and work the night of. Your work will be carefully displayed inside the beautiful walls of Jule Collins Smith Museum of Fine Art and you will be recognized at the event. Donations are due August 7thfor curating and set up. (Donation point is TBD will be emailed closer to the date of the event) If you are unable to donate art or attend, please consider making a donation directly to MEND HERE.
